R.G.'s Weekly Sports ReCap: Saturday 11/30 - Friday 12/6

My 'notable' happenings and keynotes of the sports world this past week:

NFL: The Seattle Seahawks upped their record to a league-best 11-1 with an impressive 34-7 victory over the New Orleans Saints, and is the first team to punch their ticket into the postseason dance....After losing their 11th game in a row to the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 to drop their record to a league-worst 2-11, the Houston Texans fired head coach Gary Kubiak after leading the franchise to back-to-back NFC South titles last season and in 2K11. Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips will coach the final three games of the regular season on an interim basis.

NBA: Players of the Week (Monday 11/25 - Sunday 12/1)....Eastern Conference - F LeBron James, Miami Heat; Western Conference - F Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder....Players of the Month (November 2K13): East - F Paul George, Indiana Pacers; West - F Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder....Rookies of the Month (November 2K13): East - G Michael Carter-Williams, Philadelphia 76ers; West - G Ben McLemore, Sacramento Kings....Sharpshooting Atlanta Hawks veteran forward Kyle Korver set a new record by hitting at least one three-point field goal in 90 consecutive games....Sixers guard Michael Carter-Williams (27 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists) and Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo (26 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) became the first rookies in league history to each amass a triple-double in the same game - which was won by Carter-Williams and Philadelphia 126-125 in overtime.

MLB: Notable Free-Agent Signings: 2B Robinson Cano, Seattle Mariners (10-years, $240M); OF Jacoby Ellsbury, New York Yankees (7-years, $153M); OF Carlos Beltran, New York Yankees (3-years, $45M); OF Curtis Granderson, New York Mets (4-years, $60M); Relief Pitcher Joe Nathan (2-years, $20M).
