Red Carpet Q&A: R&B/Soul singer BLAKE CARRINGTON

The Date: Tuesday, 9/13/2K11
The Locale: FRAMES Bowling Lounge, New York City
The Event: The launch for the upcoming independent film 'The Fashion Police'

RG: What do you think of the current landscape of R&B/Soul music?

BC: I think there should be more 'real' lyrics from the artists themselves. I feel that there's more of a cohesiveness when the singer can write their own own lyrics. I'm looking for that type of entertainment as a whole.

RG: What does 'performing live' mean to you?

BC: It means everything! It means that people get to experience your trials, tribulations and whatever you have to offer to the public. The audience gets to see you in your rarest form - your vulnerability at it's least, and there's nothing better than that, in my opinion. There's no studio session - It's right in your face. Here we are; Let's do it - live and direct! As an artist, I'm trying to set a standard!
